Actually apparently I come across more confident than I am irl too. There are times when I'm explaining my point of view and people are afraid to disagree because I'm coming across so "this is the way things are and that's the end of it!" I'm not sure why that is.

That's kind of unusual - well, to such a degree maybe. I guess a lot of people tend to put on a better face than how they're feeling; often others can't guess how nervous or angry or sad or whatever they are just by talking. But being able to fake confidence, whether intentionally or not, is a very useful skill.

I think it might be because I generally have a pretty quiet voice, to the point where people often have trouble hearing what I'm saying, but I get a lot louder when I'm talking about something I'm interested in. It's kind of ironic actually. The fact that I'm interested in the subject and want to hear what other people have to say makes my opinions seem more rigid than they are and discourages others from sharing.
