Yeah, my last apartment only accepted checks or cash and my water company only accepts checks or cash. Oh, and both my private loan companies only accept cash/checks!

Normal checks I get, though it would not be something I expect from a court. But money orders or bank checks only?

Oooh yeah, I skipped over the bank part of that. That is weird. They're guaranteed but man, that's inconvenient.

Normal checks can be bounced because there's no way to check whether or not the person has the money in the account to cover the amount of the check. A money order or a bank check requires you to pay the amount in cash up-front to receive the money order/bank check. There's no way to cheat on it, basically.
