That sounds like one hell of a nocturnal adventure. The bit about the figures moving in the photograph reminds me a bit of a story I wrote over a decade ago where pictures moved to depict new scenes. It was quite the story to write.

Every now and then I used to have a series of dreams, one after another, all in one night--and remember all of them; "nocturnal adventure" is a good word for it. But I used to be much better at remembering my dreams; lately, I hardly remember them at all. TBH, I've begun to wonder if I've developed a sleep disorder where you never fall into deep sleep--maybe that would account for it.
