I don't hate female characters, and I adore strong female characters in my fandoms. Like... A LOT. It's a pleasant change from the wilting-flower types that were so popular for so long.

But at the same time, there's been a growing trend lately. People seem to think that to have a strong lady, they have to be a bitchy ice queen. It's really irritating. :/ Hell, if DISNEY of all people can have well-balanced strong women (many in the form of princesses), anyone can.

(Though I'd take PMSing bitch strong characters over the ditzy klutzes that are becoming popular again, any day.)

Tl;dr: Word. Totally agree.

Word to your word. I do admit I judge female characters more harshly than male ones, but that's because they have a tendency to be sooooo typecast that I feel hard-pressed to find their more unique traits.
