I might agree if it weren't for that ending.

I used to think so, but I tried rewatching the show recently and I couldn't get through. I just lost interest in this show.

I found it a bit overrated. It was exciting when the writing was good but in episodes where the writing was either middle ground or bad it was hard to get through.

I generally don't like shows that take themselves too seriously for this reason, when the writing is not top notch at all times I just fall asleep.

I ADORE the characters but I had to stop watching after a while because I got too emotionally attached to them and I didn't want to see anything bad happen that I knew was going to happen because I read a bunch of spoilers. Too intense for me I guess.

I think it was very much a show of its time. It may well be a good social reflection on the post 9/11 era, and the pro-edgy badass darkness to be taken seriously instead of dismissed as a genre show, faction within fandom. I don't think it has aged well so far though, but we need to give it more time to judge it fully. You may well turn out to be right OP, but it has a mountain to climb first.

I still think it's one of the best TV shows period. It's definitely my personal favourite.

Huh.

It doesn’t even crack my top 25. In no particular order: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Fringe, Quantum Leap, Warehouse 13, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica (Original series), Farscape, Max Headroom, V (Original series), Firefly,The Twilight Zone, Eureka, Person of Interest, The Outer Limits, Haven, Amazing Stories, The Dead Zone, Highlander, The Incredible Hulk, The Greatest American Hero, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

With honorable mentions of: 3rd Rock from the Sun, Early Edition, The Pretender, John Doe, The Wild Wild West

And not-so-honorable mentions (they were sci-fi and I liked them, but good, well…): Seaquest DSV, Dark Angel, Sliders, Tremors

I didn’t include Miracles or Medium because I’m not sure I’d call them sci-fi and Agent Carter and Forever are a little too new to make a determination.

Of course, Battlestar Galactica (Reboot) is one of a handful of sci-fi series I watched about a season of and then lost interest in including: Lost, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Falling Skies, and Under the Dome. So I may just not have the best taste.

Ab. so. lute. ly.

Best frakkin' SF show I've ever watched. Gut wrenching, mind expanding, top drawer quality.

I'm genuinely surprised this is a secret. People seem miffed about the ending, but it was an excellent show overall.
