I am worried that I will not be able to find a place to rent that I can afford and will let me keep my cats. I am disabled and waiting for the repeal paperwork to go through after being denied for SSI. At this point, my cats (fixed older cats), are the only thing I have to live for.

I hope you have good luck, anon.

My feeling as a landlord is that the things that make someone a good pet owner make them a good tenant as well. I think many landlords are coming around to that perspective--there are a lot of places in my home town that are pet-friendly, including the old hotel that's been converted into subsidized apartments. Your town might turn out the same.
