Yeah, but he actually does a good job and doesn't say stuff like "we write comics for 40 year olds."

I'm not a big Didio hater but that was an asshole thing to say. People get on him for making poor comments towards younger fans and women but ask the old time DC fans what they think and they hate him deeply. They're just not getting what they want or need from their comics.

The new wave of girl friendly comics is great and I hope it ushers in a new era of writers and artists but I feel bad for the old timers who STILL cling to comics but aren't getting the same satisfaction. They don't want the old comics all over again (most of them don't, anyway) but they want to see themselves and their tastes in the books and that still isn't happening. I'd like to do a comic for them someday. (And just so you know, it wouldn't be boobtastic stuff. For all the guys into good girl art, so many others find it embarrassing.)

Which leads to the question - if it's not working for old-guard fans, and it's not working for us who were roped in in the 80s and 90s and its not FOR the young ones, who are they really after as a target audience?
