Re: Lucky you, his hair hasn't been that long in a while.

Chigaco Fire has great characters, but the writing disappoints. It's mostly just drama, drama, DRAMA* when it should be more about fire fighters! Every episode they're dispatched once or twice, which is great, but I would love to see more of them at the scenes. If the situation demands someone be saved we usually see that, otherwise the shots at the scene are usually just mood setting, unfortunately.

The characters and their relationships are for the most part absolutely great, though. If they cut out the constant unnecessary drama (seriously, as though as one thing is resolved, another problem comes up!) and put more focus on the actual fire fighting this would be an amazing show.* As it is I'd say it's a tick above average.

*I think this is really obvious with Chigace PD, which is a spin-off of Chigago Fire. In CF several cop characters show up semi-regularily (the constant drama in the characters' lives sometimes requires police intervention), which they eventually put in their own spin-off show. But CPD just isn't an interesting show, because it's basically every lackluster cop show out there; the only thing that made CF interesting is the fire fighting aspect because that hasn't been done to death already.
