Episodes addressing some kind of social issue in a very explicit Aesop's Fables message type of way, where the whole plot is constructed to convey the message, rather than the message being just part of the plot. Very common in teen dramas or sitcoms. If the episode is followed by a PSA delivered by one of the cast members and the number of a hotline, that's a big signifier, but it's not required to make something a very special episode.
