Re: The whole "think of the children" angle is weird to me

"I side-eye anyone who has a problem with what other people get off to."

I...am kind of judgmental about stuff with kids. I remember someone posted a prompt from the Supernatural kink meme about sex with five year old kids and I was like NOPE. I mean, I get that people can't control what they get off to but that's just a line I can't cross.

I'm generally okay with most things but...

ayrt I'm obviously judgemental about anything that involves real kids, but if it's just written or drawn fiction, I don't really care. There are lots of kinks out there that I personally find disgusting, but there are probably also people who find my kinks disgusting so ... as long as nobody is getting hurt (and by "getting hurt" I mean real people in the real world getting abused or raped, not someone being offended by someone else's fanfic), who cares?

NAYRT, but the fact that someone's getting off on a story about kids at all.

Yeah but what differences does it make? That stuff is usually tagged. You can just ignore it. You can choose not to interact with people who write it. It literally makes no difference to the rest of the fandom.

But I kinda love how the comments in this thread prove OP's point.

I will say that it worries me from the perspective of any in authority finding and coming down on the kink meme for child porn. I worry that I could in some way be tied to that even though it completely disgusts me.

I'd just rather that underage stuff was sectioned off.

Rape fantasy isn't likely to get you in trouble with the law. But in some countries, even manga of underage kids is classified as child porn.

Canada, for sure, and I think Australia as well. Not sure where else, but it's probably not a small list. Even written material will count, not just illustrated manga.

Who gives a crap, they're not harming anyone reading it. Are we going to judge women who get off on fictional rape then? Cause that will mean judging a huge portion of the population, given non con being maybe the no1 female fantasy.

Re: The whole "think of the children" angle is weird to me

Yeah but...

Here's the thing: I can imagine people in power leading a witch hunt on people who post about children on kink memes. No one is hurt by underage manga, but it's still banned in a lot of places.

And I'd rather not be tied to that in any way shape or form.

People who want that kind of stuff can and will continue to write it but I'd prefer if it were segregated from other kinks for legal reasons.

That's not an issue even with rape fantasy -- you can find plenty of that stuff on bookshelves.

Re: The whole "think of the children" angle is weird to me

(Anonymous) 2015-05-02 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
By that logic you should also segregate het and slash because gay porn is illegal in some countries.

Re: The whole "think of the children" angle is weird to me

(Anonymous) 2015-05-02 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I would have no issue with a person from a country where it's illegal requesting this. As long as they're not shaming anyone I feel like it's a reasonable request to make.

That doesn't mean a kink meme will necessarily follow through, but I don't think it's wrong for such a person to ask. It's not homophobia in that case, it's just trying to cover your ass.

Heck, all porn is illegal in some countries.

Well actually that's exactly what's happening, also. See recent Sherlock wank for example. Same thing with Hydra Trash party.

I'm only two paragraphs into that and I already want to throw up.

tl;dr: People deliberately cornered a noncon writer (who happens to be a rape survivor) at a panel (that wasn't even about the noncon work), also they taped it and posted it online without permission.

What. the. fuck.

Same. And 13 isn't the oldest I've heard of.

I mean, there's RL examples of it, but they're either victims of misaimed fandoms (see: Lolita) or just as controversial.

Ngl, I'm totally judgmental about that, but at the same time I'm also okay with it as long as it is completely fictional. No lusting after someone's real life five-year old and shit like that.

Re: The whole "think of the children" angle is weird to me

(Anonymous) 2015-05-02 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
True, but isn't that true for every kink?

You can enjoy fictional noncon, but no wanting actual rape to happen to you/others. You can get off fictional torture, but no actual torturing your partner. You can get off fictional humiliation, but not degrade anyone (unless they're into humiliation play).
