I'm curious what fandoms you're in and where. . . every fandom I've seen is pretty much the opposite of this.

Not OP but

A LOT of fandoms have been like this recently.

Anti-porn stuff in general is pretty popular in cartoon fandoms. There's always been tremendous amounts of backlash for MLP porn. Steven Universe has a lot of "Make this fandom a safe space for kids!" and "If you ship this pairing you're gross and promoting abuse" posts. Tumblr users have harassed one artists (I can't remember if it was for Gravity Falls or Steven Universe) for drawing a dark comic. The comic wasn't even pornographic but about suicide and iirc it was properly tagged and warned for. There were a couple of posts in the Korra fandom about how writing and drawing Korrasami bondage stuff is bad because Korra it's disrespectful to the trauma Korra went through or something.

Anime fandoms like Attack on Titan and Black Butler have a slew of "Your ship is pedophilia and you need to stop shipping it" posts rn.

A fanfic writer who wrote a couple of episodes of WTNV was doxxed because she had some fics tagged with Rape/NonCon and Underage. The fics were not kinky and actually dealt with the aftermath of trauma but the damage was done and the writer dropped out of fandom.

Then there's the clusterfuck that's going on in Sherlock.

In Attack on Titan fandom, I even got "this ship promotes abuse and you need to stop shipping it" for Eren/Jean. Eren and Jean are the same age, the same rank, and canonly friends; but they argue a lot.

Their arguments were "proof" that if they were together romantically it would be an abusive relationship. I nearly died laughing.

Oh man, your Eren/Jean mention brought me Free! frashbacks.

Where shipping Haru/Rin was ROMATISICING ABUSE

lmao, the only thing would make that better is if the people saying eren/jean is abusive were also eren/levi shippers

That would be nicely ironic. I don't know what they shipped, since they stayed on anon when sending all their hate. I found them to be more mature than the Ereri-haters I got in my inbox (or at least they can talk in actual sentences).

Actual example of Ereri hate in my inbox:

"EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWY OU ARE SO GROSS *HOLDS NOSE* GET OUT OF THE ERERI TAG"

OMG. So now we can't have fiction that deals with the aftermath of abuse without the writer being attacked?
