I feel that's been a thing lately with a lot of fandoms (lately meaning 2 or 3 years), specially the ones where there are a lot of younger teens in. There's this preconcived idea that liking something 'out of the norm' or 'kinky' makes you an instant bad person, which of course is not true. I also think that there's a preconcieved idea that people can't separate fiction from reality and should be policed on it 24/7. It's really grating.
