Re: What have you been diagnosed with?
I write a lot of body horror in my stories--bodies filled with green goop, or crawling with live beetles, or warped into strange and inhuman shapes. At first, I didn't really consider why I wrote it, but it started not long after I was first diagnosed with Crohn's.
Then again, you've dealt with ulcerative colitis, so I can't be too woe-is-me. It and Crohn's are sometimes misdiagnosed for each other.
Re: What have you been diagnosed with?
And I do know the joys of the buring colon, but on the other hand Crohn's isn't treatable with a fairly simple surgical procedure so I feel you but I also kind of don't there. I hope your GI health continues to be manageable.
I agree though, there's something about chronic medical conditions that does attract one to the body horror genre.
