Re: The stupid question thread

Crap. Now I want to see some sort of Bones/Stepford Wives crossover fic. Or something. I feel the need to apologize for that little tangent.

On a more serious note, you bring up a good point about her introduction. I've seen some of the earlier episodes when I go to my in-laws' place for dinner, and Bones being awkward was definitely far more enjoyable. I think Cam and Hodgins have been a bit more consistently characterized throughout the show's run, but that's just based on piecing together episodes I've caught sprodically throughout the years. Cam, though, has generally been the voice of reason and sometimes the most logical out of anyone.

Cam to me was always the most balanced. She understood both logic and emotion and knew how to talk to people while at the same time understood the science. Brennan was the most purely logical, but too much so to the point that she didn't understand emotions or other people's viewpoints. She's mostly lost that aspect of her character except in relation to religion.

Hodgins has been pretty consistant, and Angela has mostly. Although, Angela got annoying more recently at times because when it came to emotion vs. logic, her emotional viewpoint was always right.

That as a whole has really become the message of the show. Emotion trumps logic, smart but unemotional people have to learn and grow while more emotional and less logical people don't. They've even had scenes with ghosts and things that prove that spiritual stuff is objectively true. It just got frustrating.
