Yyyup.

My favorite personal example of this: in one of my fandoms, there are two incest ships. One of these ships is considered Very Problematic, and people will deride its fans for liking incest; accuse them of supporting incest in real life; and occasionally call them pedophiles (despite the pairing involving two adults). These people will then go off to happily ship the other incest pairing, which has been deemed Not Problematic for Reasons.

It's about image, and it's about getting to declare that those who have interests that differ from yours are literally bad people.

I've seen that kind of thing all too often. It's just a way for people to attack things they don't like.

It's why I have so little patience or fucks to give over whether my ships or tropes are problematic. Literally every ship can be considered Very Problematic for some reason.

What fandom is that? Whoever they are, they make zero sense.
