the reaction is because the post is really weird

like "this person needs help" levels of bizarre

if you read the thread, it doesn't look like anyone is actually MAD, they're just offering advice to try and help OP

I don't think "I wish I could hate you to death" or "fuck off no one wants you here" are much in the way of constructive comments, and there were a couple others that I think got deleted.

I agree it's a weird post and it sounds like the person needs help, but at the same time I'm not hugely a fan of that kind of vitriol.

I was talking about people who matter, not garden-variety 14-year-old trolls who just discovered 4-chan exists.
