So much protesting in this thread, damn.

Like it or not, fandom and anime stuff says stuff about you. Everything you wear and what you look like says stuff about you, and other people will judge you on that (regardless of whether it's actually true.) It's not nice, but people make snap judgements.

You might be a totally stable and nice person, but ironic weeaboo anime shit will scream "I AM SOCIALLY AWKWARD AND UNWASHED AND WILL CORNER YOU AND TALK TO YOU AT LENGTH ABOUT ANIME" to a lot of people.

Nobody is saying "If you wear this, then you ARE this", they're saying "If you wear this, it gives this impression." What you wear is up to you. But realise that your image is part of how you communicate yourself to others. If you're prepared to deal with that, cool. But if you're not, don't complain when other people get all judgemental.

I like how everyone who is simply protesting that maybe those kind of judgments are unkind is automatically a desperate insecure fanshit, according to much of the attitude on this thread.
