I used to pass by Xavier University sometimes. They pronounced it the same way as Professor X did, I think. And yeah, I mostly know of it more from SPANISH, rather than FRENCH.

It's still quite weird to me, but I guess Exavier is way more common than my experience (...no pun intended) led me to believe.

Yeah, to me it's unusual, but not THAT much. But then, I lived near Bexar County, which is pronounced 'Bear,' so stupid pronunciations is kinda a given.

Still loathe how I'm supposed to pronounce 'quixotic' though.

Heh...I literally cannot pronounce quixotic using the Spanish pronunciation of Quixote, no matter how much I try. >_>

Yeah, while I automatically try to pronounce it the Spanish way, just because it makes way more intuitive sense to me. Go fig.
