It's great, read it.

It's not perfect by any means, but it has really awesome likable characters and is worth reading on that basis alone IMO.

The comic? We read the first three volumes, which were good, but I had absolutely no interest in reading further, due to [SPOILER]. I wanted to like it, but for some reason, it just wouldn't click with me. The art is beautiful, the story well-crafted, just for some reason, it didn't work for me.

I've heard that Whedon's run on it much later was pretty bad though.

Stick to the Brian K Vaughn run, but I loved it.

Going to go against the grain here and say I didn't like it. It's too "Oh we're teens! And we have powers!" for me. It might have been something I liked if I read it as a young person but I didn't like it as an adult.

One character was likable...
