Yeah, I think I'll just nope out. That scene felt like something from the MRA part of Literotica, and it's just not something I can handle in a story that's apparently supposed to be cute and funny.

It's not actually supposed to be cute and funny...it's kind of hard to pin down what it's supposed to be exactly but there's definitely some heavy emotional issues involved (and that scene is supposed to be creepy and horrible.) But if that kind of thing hits your "nope" buttons then it's probs best to avoid it. No need to go out of your way to read things that squick you.
