(Anonymous) 2015-05-04 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)Werewolves got a black and white movie, sixteen years later. It wasn't until 1941 that The Wolf Man was produced and made the idea of werewolves popular. I still don't know of a book series about werewolves and werewolves alone that has been popular. (Anne Rice's sister was trying.)
Most people can point to Dracula (even if it's not the true case if you dig deeper) and go "there is the origins of vampires." To do that with werewolves is much trickier.
