something new

what's something new you tried recently and liked? good, music, games, whatever

or something new you discovered about yourself?

Kind of unrelated maybe but I recently developed an interest in understanding the War in Afghanistan (better late than never I suppose) and...holy shit...the whole situation with Pakistan is so fucking retarded. There are no words. It's really fascinating but it's just so fucking sad.

During the first day of my new job I got lunch for free. Even with a taco bar, a huge grill, and pizza offerings, I chose a salad. To be fair, the salad was grilled romaine topped with roasted spring vegetables and wheat croutons and served with a tomato vinaigrette. It was awesome! I'm actually considering recreating this recipe in the future.

apparently I was really missing out by not getting into the wrestling fandom earlier. it's fun as fuck, it's not an old and dead fandom, there's no off season so I can squee year-round, it's shippy as hell and gay af, canon satisfies pretty much every kink I've ever had, and THE MELODRAMA AND CHEESE IS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED.

I'm pretty much flailing about over everything WWE related and I never fucking expected it. I can't believe I used to scoff at people who watched the WWE. I WAS SO WRONG. I was so so wrong.

Isn't that the truth?

I was watching Wrestlemania II and I'm like "where are the hot people?" My fiancé told me I have to wait until the late nineties, at least. Not even gonna lie, 70% of the reason I even care is because everyone is so hot and kinky shit happens on the regular.

Even back in the 90s it wasn't that great. Is Rollins your favorite?

I bet Romulans would love the WWE because they are such drama queens and there is so much sneaking around and back-stabbing.

Bonus points for using "pee" and "shit" in the same sentence.

Asparagus is so good

Classic summer food, as well

I had that reaction to brussel sprouts. Like, they were one of those things that got tossed around as an ew gross! food that your parents might make you eat and it's so terrible. My parents never served them as a kid, so I assumed this was true. LIES! All lies! Roasted brussel sprouts are awesome. (It was my parents who introduced me to them last fall!)

I don't think there's much new to discover about myself. :/

I've had the cat for a little over a month and since he's a constant purr machine, I figure I must be doing something right. I guess I learned I'm a halfway decent pet owner?

I finished reading two new books recently. One was 'The Book Thief', which made me cry. (Goddammit, Rudy!) The other was 'The Magician's Lie.' That one was pretty good, although there were a few loose ends. Both are recommended.

I started watching Outlander; that's been rather fun. I'm on episode five right now and enjoying the eye candy that is Jamie.

I tried to watch that but I found it rather boring. I only watched one episode.

See I have a thing for time traveling into the past, falling for a mysterious stranger, etc stories, so... yeah. It was pretty much going to have to be fucking terrible for me not to watch.

I will say the first episode's incredibly slow since it takes 2/3 of the ep for the 1700s!Scotland stuff to happen, but at the same time, it's a kind of ponderous show overall.

I listened to a bunch of songs by Meg Myers yesterday and today I listened to a bunch of songs by The Neighbourhood and jfc, I'm in love so hard with both of them.

I recently started researching BDSM and it's (more current) history. I'm not into is myself but it's interesting.

But really, the fact that I like learning fun facts isn't new.

Monster hunter 4 Ultimate! I don't know if it can be caled recent since right now I can't play it. It's my sister's 3ds, and she lives in our hometown which I only go back when I have days off from university, which ended yesterday. Now I have to wait till mid June but it's only a little more than a month away so I'm not that bothered!

I loved it! The world is beautiful and the monsters are so pretty, I love the big ones, like the Tetsucabra even when he chased me and try to kill me. I can't wait till June to cotinue playing!

Binding of Isaac. It was a special kind of hell at first (I'm used to arrow keys being directions, never used WSAD before) but I am totally hooked and find it incredibly soothing and cathartic to play. Fucking LOVE it. I love games that are easy to learn and hard to win, and the replay value is AMAZING.
