I certainly notice them and have a thing for nice voices. A great voice can be just as attractive as psychical attributes and I tend to remember them well. (As with appearances, I have a broad sense of what's 'nice'.)

Last week I was mistaken for a kid over the phone. "Oh, this is her? You sound like a little girl!" I get mistaken for a teen a lot by looks alone, so the voice doesn't help matters. (My voice sounds wayyyyyyy huskier to me, but when I listen to it on a recording I cringe.)

Your voice is beautiful! Very feminine, but in a lovely, throaty sort of way.

My voice is also somewhat feminine lol which sucks worse for me than it does for you, trust me.

For a second there I wondered, "Have I been uploading audio files to f!s in my sleep? Herpy sounds pretty certain!"

The funny thing being I don't think my voice sounds particularly feminine, just young. I feel like I could just as easily sound like a young boy, but I guess it's hard to gauge that kind of thing.

It's weird how different your voice sounds to your own ears. If everyone else was hearing what I hear I would like my voice just fine, but on the occasion that I realize that's not what they're hearing I get self-conscious.

IDK if it's the same for you, though.

(I imagine most people feel this way.)

LOL what have I done I somehow thought I was replying to othelia.

HURR. DURR. derp.

I don't even know what happened there.

And yes, it is the same for everyone and there is a scientific explanation for it! Your voice sounds different to you because you hear the reverberations in the bones in your skull which creates a much different sound. It is why your voice always sounds deeper than it does on a recording.

Never fear though, most of the time a recorded voice doesn't sound the same as your voice in real life, so you should never be too freaked out about what you sound like through a microphone as compared to your voice in your own skull.

I figured you had made some sort of mistake! It happens to the best of us so no worries. Haha.

I have read about the scientific explanation and find it fascinating! I'll probably never be fully comfortable with the reality but at least I don't obsess over it. (On the rare occasion I think about it I pull out my phone and start recording messages to test the difference, then inevitably get weirded out and ignore it.)

Now I wish I could remember what Othellia's voice sounds like. Pretty sure I've heard it at some point, but can't remember. Everyone in the last voice thread had a nice voice, though.

Othelia sounds like a singer, because she is a singer. Her voice is very pleasant and has that nice round chest quality that makes it nice to listen to.

Damn you Othellia, is there any way in which you are not perfect?!

I submit that no, no there is not.
