Eh, maybe? Douchebag is just so utterly mild and people use it so often to refer to really shitty people, to me it almost feels tamer than "asshole" even.

Hell, if you want to argue it from a feminist perspective, one could argue that the actual, literal device the term comes from is sexist in and of itself as it was borne out of banking on women's insecurity and therefore "douchebag" is a great insult (especially in reference to, say, shitty drunken frat boys.)
