It's years since I read them and yeah, agree communism =/= socialism, but then it depends how you define communism. Some people argue that many earlier societies were a lot more communist in sense of sharing, because they had to be far more inter/co-dependent.

Also my boyfriend's French so I've gotten more aware of how a lot of French things have subtle leftist/anti-capitalist things woven in to them that I never even noticed before. Not saying that's true of Asterix as like I said, been years since I read them!
