I've been told that this comicon is a very good networking con (even if she's not in employment where that helps, it's a resume padder that closes the gap of last employment. Shows she was doing work where she could, looking for jobs!) in particular, so she specifically and absolutely should be going. And considering her employment situation, she shouldn't asking her boyfriend. She should be TELLING him about the job she's gonna do.
