I can't decide which would be better: AU or RPF.

Both of these options make me a terrible, terrible, person.

AU is always better, in my opinion, just because you can have more fun tailoring it to your specific likes. I'm also not fond of stories that are over-reliant on dredging into people's real-life personal lives, as they feel sordid in the long run, but that's also my own opinion.
