I played this on SNES, but honestly, I find it way too disgusting now. I feel like some things were fine pixelated that are just really horrible in great graphics. I'm still interested in the series, because I like fighting games, but the creative gore is just a deal breaker for me.

I spent my childhood playing MK but I think the last game I played was on the original Xbox. I haven't kept up with the series but now that you mention it, I can see how as graphics get more realistic and animations get better, the excessive gore might be too much for some.

(Not that I necessarily think it would for me, because I think I'm partially desensitized to violence in fiction, but who knows? Some things are def more disturbing than others.)

I was actually thinking about how much I miss MK the other day, so now I might try to watch some let's plays.

Well, you've proved me wrong. That's damn brutal even by MK standards. (And I thought Kano's heart biting was pretty gross, if bearable, this is ew and pretty disturbing.)

I've sliced people into a hundred pieces as Raiden and it wasn't this unpleasant.

This series is just entirely too 90s comics for me. It was fine when it was actually the 90s, but there's no reason for this series to continue existing in 2015.

Agreed. I loved the MK series back in the day, but once MK4 rolled out that's pretty much when I stopped playing. It just got old for me.

I feel you, OP. I didn't really care for MK until MKX (I blame/thank watching Maximilian's videos on YT... then again, he also indirectly got me into Killer Instinct, so yeah) and while the gore is kinda 'ehhhh' to me -I don't care for it, but I know it's a staple of the series, so I just deal ahaha-, I'm a sucker for deepest lore and it's got that in spades.

Also I'm disgusted at myself for finding MKX!Sub-Zero as hot as I do, ughhhh

Text: I am entirely too invested in the story and charaters of a series where you can rip off someone's leg and bash their head with it until their skull caves in. I wasn't even an old-school fan, but I feel like the reboot revitalized a lot of characters who started of really lame.

BS: Scorpion is beyone overrated. Is this how Street Fighter fans feel about Ken?

BBS: I tried spelling this whole secret with a k replacing each c, but it felt too silly.
