Avas demon fandom is at it again

(Anonymous) 2015-05-07 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It's all the same people, too. If they hated the last two things she drew, why are they still looking at her stuff/reading her comic? Especially teenagers after it was specifically stated the comic is rated "M" and not targeted to them? I do think she should have maybe added nsfw or self-harm trigger warning, but that's it.

Because they hate her and want to keep finding things in her comic to harass her about.

She should stop baiting them, though. I don't think there's anything wrong with either of the naked pictures she did, but after the response to the first one, what did she think would happen if she made another and without any warnings? She obviously knew, and did it to spite the hatedom. Which also sucks for people with real self-harm triggers who aren't in the hatedom.

Aren't the pictures part of a series? That's the impression I got after Gil was released. I'm sure the kids will love her once naked Odin comes out.

I think so. If it distracts them from throwing around that pointless 'aro/acephobic" bullshit that'll be great.

Those people LOVE to be offended. I think because it is mainly younger people who have never actually faced actual hardship or problems. So, they need to create some kind of adversity for themselves. In this case, that adversity is a webcomic because it is easily accessible and requires little work to "fight" it.

It's like you were reading my mind today at work, Anon, because I was thinking of the exact same subject.

I do think she should have added a trigger warning (even if she was taking a piss at the hatedom, it's still good to be courteous in tagging), but OTOH, I don't think she should get crap thrown at her for the stuff she draws of her own characters by fans. It's like "... What were you expecting? They're still her characters, so she can do whatever she wants with them. If you're so torqued about it, go make your own goddamn webcomic."

Wait, Ava's Demon has drama? I tried to read it back in the day, couldn't really get into it, kinda baffled by the concept folks would flip out about it.

Warning: Blood and blades

Because any character being drawn nude (the artist isn't even showing naughty bits mind you, they just are wearing little to no clothing and each picture clearly has a theme... fruits, seashells, etc) is pedophila don't you know.

Or, in the latest picture, TRIGGERING! (oh noes)

I admit, that piece does make me uncomfortable, but that's because of the self-harm imagery, not the nudity. This piece doesn't seem sexual to me at all, just maybe sad. The layout and stiff positioning makes me think of tarot cards.
