Castiel/Sam from Supernatural. I like them together because I feel like they really understand each other. They both always try to do the right thing but it pretty much always falls apart on them whether it's directly their fault or not. I also like the fact that Castiel has grown to genuinely consider Sam a good friend of his and someone whose life is previous to him which is a pretty significant development considering that he initially thought Sam was an abomination

Castiel/Sam is my jam right now. I loved the scene where Sam was offended by the fact that none of the fangirls seemed to ship Castiel/Sam and then tried to come up for possible ship names that could be used

I started shipping this last season. I'm very out of the fandom and haven't finished season 10, but has the support for this ship picked up at all? Any fics you'd reccomend? I don't care about s10 spoilers.

It has! Even though the ship is still a relatively small one by Supernatural standards (there are around 2000 fics for it on AO3, so it would be very respectably sized ship in pretty much any other fandom, but it's still very dwarfed by wincest and destiel shippers). Season 10 has definitely drawn in some more shippers, mostly due to the fact that they've been getting more scenes together like in the episode where they team up to take down Metatron and the times they've had to band together to try to deal with the whole mark of cain thing that dean has going on

I want to kind of get back into reading fic for this fandom, but I'm so lazy about fic searching. I think I'm just going to trawl the Sam/Cas tag on AO3 and see if anything looks good. I'm kind of over Destiel right now, which sucks because it was my fave SPN ship.

I can't blame you. This fandom is so damn big that I just get kind of tired of scrolling through fics. I used to enjoy a little bit of Destiel every now and then but it's become one of those few pairings that the fandom just totally ruined for me. Usually I can ignore shitty shippers, but it became too much. I think I just need a break from it for a while

It's also written by one of my favorite Supernatural authors. Her "When it Happens" series is one of the only fanfics to ever make me cry. That one is wincest though and idk if you really care for that)
