1) A shitty Harry Potter knock off about a girl who discovers her cousin's friend knows magic, then has adventures with friend, cousin, etc. There was a fairly complicated interpersonal drama level, and a Big To Do because something specific and magic happened when somebody died before they were ~supposed to~, so when my Tragic Heroine tried to Sacrifice Her Life, stuff got wonky.

2) A lot of awful, awful historical fiction. Personal favorite: on the eve of World War Two, two drinking buddies in Munich discover a corpse, discover the man was Jewish, and try to figure out what to do.

3) So much "realistic" fiction about young angsty closeted gay dudes, which I'm guessing was my lesbian self projecting weirdly?
