It's funny 'cause you'd think this sort of thing wouldn't bleed over too much into real life, but I have a close friend (a boy that enjoys cross-dressing) who's been getting increasingly hounded by some people on his campus to come out as MTF. When he clarifies that he's just a boy that likes dresses, he mostly just gets the cold shoulder, but lately he's starting to get some comments about how he's disgusting/trans-fetishizing/etc.

Like, cross-dressing exists! Sometimes boys like dresses. And that's okay!

Relevant to the secret: that is one hella cool-looking boy in a dress. :D

your friend is a cutie. I've enjoyed boys who unabashedly like dresses since my days with the 90's-era grunge-hippies who loved sundresses.

I'm sorry he has to deal with it, though. it's like...look at drag queens. a handful are trans, yes, but the vast majority are just men who love looking pretty in a sequinned evening gown. and nobody is banging on RuPaul's door asking him to come out as trans. :\

So the same people who are insistent that somebody come out as something they "obviously" are... throw around accusations of fetishizing? What a world.
