Back when I read CLAMP I found many things in it questionable or disturbing, or they just went over my head, but I still couldn't stop reading. >.> I think we have a propensity as humans to dismiss or excuse bad things in stuff we like. It's good to be critical, and I'm glad you're not cool with this kind of thing. Hopefully your friend just has different boundaries than you in fictional okayness and doesn't give stuff like this a pass IRL. I can sort of see what people mean about it being a fantasy for young girls, but it does seem creepy to idealize it or make it seem OK. (OH they'll get married when she's older kind of thing...) IDK. This is an interesting subject and I'm glad you brought it up! I'm surprised by how judgmental some comments are though, that you would be bothered by your friend and this. @_@
