I liked the monster too, as well as the ending, but I found that it kind of definitely deflated the horror for me. On the other hand, it was satisfying. I don't expect to come out of a horror with something to think about or even consider a rewatch for tells (it doesn't hinge on surprises or twists imo), so it was different in a good way.

I think they shouldn't have billed is so much as a horror movie. There is horror, but it is more of a psychological thriller.
