Re: Here's why it bothers people

I think most people (at least most people here) understand why the joke bothers people. And I think most people (at least here) would disagree with the underlying worldview it implies. But there's a perception of an overreaction to it, and I think that's what people have problems with, and people want to say that Jeremy Renner is a Hollywood actor who made a tasteless joke, and that it's still okay to like watching him in movies or enjoy his public persona or what have you.

Of course, you may say that no one on earth has overreacted to the joke and that people are simply calmly pointing out that the joke wasn't funny. And maybe it's so. I have no fucking idea. I'm just saying, that's the issue people are having when they're taking this position.
