I agree that it was a straight-up stupid joke, and rude, and wrong-headed. I agree with all of that.

I just don't think it means that he should never act again or that no one should watch AoU or it's wrong to enjoy his acting or w/e.

My level of engagement with the whole thing is limited to knowing that some actor made a stupid joke, and I don't see how any of this ought to extend beyond knowing that. It's a stupid joke, but that's all it really is.
