(Anonymous) 2015-05-14 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)The dude is freaking progressive compared to a lot of Hollywood types, that's why he has fans. And he didn't set out to be the feminist darling. He was a horror/comedy writer who was interested in thematic subversion, and sort of wandered into writing strong, flawed women when some people didn't want women to be strong and other people didn't want women to be flawed.
I think Buffy and Firefly both came out pretty good for TV, however imperfect.
