No. The kid has a piece of meat stuck between his front teeth and Charlie can't get a hold of it with his fingers, so he's trying with teeth instead. Which in turn makes him the one stuck with the meat. It's hilarious, you need to see that movie.

....that's not what happens of course, but I think it's kind of stupid to try to get someone to see a movie that way.

You're precisely right about the purpose there. Also, irony grows on trees, but so high up it can be hard to reach sometime, especially for kids.
