I thought he was rumored for CA3 though? Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Ruffalo is so, SO good as Banner. I've never liked the Hulk very much, and I walked out of Avengers with him as my favorite character. I'd love to see more of him, but I understand why he isn't getting a solo movie. Banner is great but you also have to use the Other Guy, and it's hard to make a rampaging monster of mindless rage engaging.

Agreed so hard.

Banner is the reason I love the character so much - actually seeing the Hulk in action is just a nice touch. (To be completely honest, I thought his fight scene with Tony in AoU was about three times as long as it should have been, though it was pretty awesome to start out with.)

1000x this, good god. I didn't mind the fight and it's kind of cool but imo it went on for far too long I haven't seen anyone else express this opinion though so I felt alone, so alone!

No, it totally went on too long. I understand they wanted to convey the impact of 'hey the world wants to see the Hulk taken down because Public Menace' but that scene needed better direction. Could have been half as long and twice as convincing with some tighter editing.

I feel like they were trying to fill time with it almost - ironic, since there's so much other stuff they could have done, and probably good stuff that got cut. What probably happened was Joss was all "aaaaactionnnnn" and sacrificed some storytelling to get in more punches and explosions :/
