But consider this:
World domination through fandom.
It should be doable, if you managed to create a canon that gathers a huge fandom, and then you can work on brainwashing the fandom both through canon and fanon means, if you participate in the fandom at the same time!


(TBH, I never understood why anyone would want world domination. Just imagine all the fucking paperwork...)

It is okay. A little dated, and the climatology science has obviously moved on a lot since then. But it is okay, even if a little in-jokey. It is by the nerds and unapologetically for the nerds; wearing its wish-fulfilment fantasy right on the surface.

That actually sounds pretty endearing. I think scientifically outdated Sci-Fi is always kind of amusing.

It's interesting if you've got a fairly solid grounding in fannish history; be forewarned, however, this duo are the Ur example Sad Puppies, so be prepared for a whooooooole lotta climate change denialism (and this was back when climate change was really starting to be noticeable, because the emissions were way, way, worse), and bucketfuls of libertarian screeching.

But... does she participate in her own fandom? And does she really brainwash people? (Or did she write a book with this topic that I never heard of because I haven't been paying attention?) So many questions!

That's cool. Honestly, if I were an author, I'd always be massively tempted to visit my fandom on anon, maybe even good-naturedly troll them a bit. It's never a good idea, as far as I know, at least not if you have an ongoing series that could be influenced by the fandom, but I'd still be tempted.

I'd want to become hated by the massess and then piss them off by "Guessing" the plot progression all the time

I'd probably be cruel and petty and watch the fandom flagships and then hint or DESTROY them in the story, depending on whether or not I like the shippers' tumblr opinions or something.
