More evil than Thatcher?

Not possible, surely.

You'd have thought not, but this is literally what Cameron said after seizing power:
β€œFor too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens: as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone,”

Even if you obey the law, the Tories reserve the right to come for you. You no longer have any right to freedom.

George Osborne and Iain Duncan Smith's policies are much further to the right than Thatcher. Thatcher could never dream of being so intrusive and demanding. It is literally a pure Authoritarianism ideology, closer to the divine right of kings than anything else. Not joking. You are not allowed to disagree with the government and they have changed the law to remove people's right to challenge the government in court, plus prior to that, when the government was challenged and lost they retroactively introduced legislation to say it was legal to act as they did all along. Just this week David Cameron made a comment that was more fit for a supervillain than a Western politician.

Haha, yes, I saw that comment pasted into the speech bubbles of Victor von Doom. It made eerily much sense.

Yowza. And I thought C-51 was bad! If our Tories rig up another election, this is probably where Canada will be, this time next year.
