Re: Roommates and cleaning

When I live with other people I'm usually pretty paranoid about keeping things clean. I have no problem with cleaning common areas or doing the dishes or taking out the garbage. I'd honestly rather it be clean then have to deal with gross things left by other people, but most of the room mates I've had have been neat freaks. I'm actually the one who can be a slob, but I'm only that way when I live alone.

I've had friends who tried to play chicken and it just made for a horrible living environment. Like I once had a friend who's room mate refused to clean up after herself in the kitchen and it got to the point where she was too grossed out to use the kitchen. I kept telling her she should just start throwing her room mate's shit out... if you aren't going to clean it up and the kitchen starts smelling, you don't deserve courtesy anymore.
