Not necessarily in Holmes fic, but I've seen the boxers in a lot of fandoms where they really didn't fit the time period.
Other than that: Something I have seen fairly often are foods. A lot of people don't consider that it wasn't always as easy as today to get your hands on all sorts of "exotic" fruits and vegetables (medieval Europe with potatoes, for example, is always a funny thing) or even the most "basic" of spices. Sometimes period atypical weapons, but that's a thing that most canons get very, very wrong as well, so ... yeah, I understand that.
Typical modern make-up and other toiletries are some other things I've seen. Liquid soap and shampoo, for example.
