Ah, I didn't mention, but I have no idea how to contact her at this point. She's changed usernames a few times, and very few people know her by her real name, so I'm not even sure where I'd start asking. Otherwise, I definitely would have done this!

In that case, I would just go with the latter option and mention that it's based on a roleplay that you did with a friend (just use her most recent username that you know of or the one that she was using when you did the roleplay I guess) and, as another anon mentioned, maybe point out which plotlines were most heavily influenced by her. That way, you're at least making an honest attempt at giving her credit even though you don't know where the hell she is and if she ever comes across the fic and gets upset for some reason (I kind of doubt that will happen tbh. She might not even be in the same fandom anymore) then you can cross that bridge when you come to it
