Yep. People finally acknowledge you if you post consistently and constantly for about a month or two, but by then you may have given up. That happened to me just recently.

I remember I loved a forum partly because it had a dedicated newbie defender.

The fact that it had someone outright called themselves "the resident newbie hunter" is one of many reasons I don't miss said forum.
