Ohh, the cabin is a nice idea. We hate camping, but a cabin would be fun.

I hate camping, too. Cabins are a nice compromise, and it's astonishing how fun it can be just to switch up your environment and give yourself permission to do vacation-ish things like eat junk food, stay up late telling ridiculous ghost stories, etc. Bonus points if it's up in the mountains for cooler temperatures, or near a lake for swimming.
