Do you believe in aliens?

Re: Inspired by #3

(Anonymous) 2015-05-18 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe in alien microbes, simple organisms, maybe animals on other worlds. I don't believe in aliens in the sense of UFOs and such. But, it's not like a firm belief. If they did show up, I wouldn't be stunned.

Same. I can't believe we're the only intelligent life, either. But "intelligent life" might just mean giraffe-like creatures.

Yes.

Aliens on earth or in communication with us at present? No.

I don't specifically not believe in them.

No because I'm not a 3 year old or mentally handicapped.

Yes. Just not that we've ever met them.

The universe is enormous. Like, I don't think we can really comprehend how huge it is.

The chance of there being aliens is just ridiculously high, that in mind. I suppose I don't "believe" in something unless I have proof, but seems only logical to acknowledge that there's a 99.9999999999999999999999% life on other planets exists.

I have no belief either way on the existence of aliens, although I suppose the balance of probability is that there is some form of extraterrestrial life somewhere in the universe.

Yes. We will probably never meet/see them, but it is pretty silly to think Earth is the only place in the universe(s) with intelligent lifeforms.

Re: Inspired by #3

(Anonymous) 2015-05-18 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
What would be worse: humanity being the most intelligent species in the universe with no one to talk to but vast empty space, or humanity being so far down the totem pole that the true intelligences never bother to try to talk to us?

I believe in the possibility, sure.

Absolutely.

Do I believe they've been whizzing around paying us the slightest bit of attention? Absolutely not.

Not nearby, but there has to be something somewhere.

Side note: I read a sci-fi story once where humanity explores the universe and discovers that Earth is the only planet with any life. This is supposed to prove that God exists and designated Earth as the one place for life to spring from. It felt like a five-year-old's excuse for why he's more special than the other kids.

I don't not believe in extraterrestrial life, but I don't believe in greys.

Yes.

I don't think they care about us tho.

I don't specifically believe in aliens (Though the universe is massive so I believe there are other lifeforms out there), but if they look anything like BioWare aliens then I want to.

Yup. I firmly believe that there is other life out there in 'basic' forms if you will(like alien lizards, bugs, etc), and think intelligent life exists too. I just don't think they're necessarily any more advanced than we are technology-wise so the likelihood of us meeting them is not high.

I mean maybe one-day if we ever figure out space-travel with any amount of efficiency but as it stands? It's gonna be a while, if we haven't annihilated ourselves by then as well.

Yes. It's a little selfish, I feel, to assume we're the only beings in the universe. But I don't believe in greys. =/ Seem kinda hokey.

I think it's probable that they exist somewhere out in the far reaches of the universe, but I don't believe in them.

Yes. But I don't think they are coming here to look at us. OR if they did then they are smart enough to stay far, far away from us.
