Reader Insert, Second Person POV fic
(Anonymous) 2015-05-19 12:23 am (UTC)(link)So, I'm curious. When you read AU kink fic like this starring, what is essentially a reader insert, do you mind second person POV and the use of "You," or do you prefer the author to do another POV and create an OC?
(I've never written fic like this before!)

(Anonymous) 2015-05-19 01:04 am (UTC)(link)I'm actually a fan of second person POV overall, even in other fandoms and non-reader insert, but I'm not sure what people like in their kink, is all.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-19 01:38 am (UTC)(link)There are ways to make the OC easy to step into the shoes of without using second person.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-19 02:28 am (UTC)(link)I usually find most second person POV fic to be compelling and usually not awkward unless the writer is just terribly unskilled. I don't consider myself to be a "very skilled author" by any stretch, but I can't say that what I've got down so far too terribly awkward. (Clunky is another story, as I tend to be rather clunky sometimes regardless of the POV.)
