That's the only reason I can think of, being woken up so abruptly and not thinking straight.

No point beating yourself up about it now, because nothing bad happened as a result.

My feet are fine, thanks! This was last year or the year before I think. I just felt dumb because I know better than to do that, and there's always glass and gravel on that road, and bindis in the grass.

I guess from the other side, if I was in trouble and being chased or something, I would be scared that nobody would answer their door at all and I would be murdered. It was good of you to offer help in some way.
