Re: I did warn you . . .
(Anonymous) 2015-05-19 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)It's the opposite of that, actually, plus it completely goes along with the theme GoT (moreso even than the books) has had from the very beginning: letting the viewers' externalized power (and sex fantasies) fantasies (Ned's gonna triumph... oops. Dany's gonna get that sexy wedding night... oops. Danys Son is gonna... oops. Robb's gonna avenge... oops. Tyrions gonna get what he's earned... oops. Cersei and Jaime are gonna make up and have hot sex... oops. SANSA'S NOW MAGICALLY DARK SANSA AND IN CONTROL ... OOOOOPS.) crumble and build something new from that.
Tbh. since that Jaime-Cersei fiasco of shipper-butthurtness I feel vindicated everytime people freak out like this because it just takes their stupid little clichê fantasies and shoves them in their faces.
Sansa has willingly gone into this situation. Yes, she got more than she bargained for, no, that's not a reason to not call it rape, but it's not like this is gonna be THE EVENT that traumatizes her (or should, so we can see the "appropriate dealing with rape and the fallout"-bullshit). I'd argue that it's hardly the worst thing that's happened to her. And she's gonna be TITLE OF EPISODE through that.
